Cold Climate Travertine Installation on top of Concrete

Question: I just purchased Travertine Pavers from you and I am curious about your opinion of dry-setting the pavers on top of a concrete slab. I am inclined to go concrete so as not to deal with settling but I see that you recommend dry-setting. Can you dry set over concrete or is that not recommended? I am in Connecticut.

Answer:
You can dry-set on top of a concrete slab. However, you might have to establish a border in order to keep the pavers in place. You will need to mortar the border. However, since you are in a freeze/thaw climate you must use a flexible mortar (such as Flex-Bond) to allow the Travertine to expand and contract with the cycles.
