Pool Deck Height Variation
Question: I am thinking of using Travertine Pavers to replace our concrete pool deck. We live in Arizona. The deck around our pool is 4 inches higher than our patio. what is the best way to transition between the two heights? What is CA6? What size gravel should I use? Which is better CA6 or gravel? What is the difference in price between the two?
Answer: The lower deck can be brought to the same height as your pool deck by using more sand and gravel.
CA6 is a ragged edge limestone gravel that bonds really well. The edges hold on to each other therefore minimizing shifts in the pavers down the road. They are usually an average of 3 inches long. Unfortunately, we do not know enough about the prices of gravel to comment.
